Gluten, which is a protein found in grains like wheat, barley, rye and spelt, is found in many food products and not always clearly listed as an ingredient. Why Gluten Free?

An estimated 1 in 133 people have Celiac Disease and manage the disease with a gluten-free diet. Other individuals require gluten-free living due to wheat allergies and other digestive disorders.

  • Wheat in all its forms
  • Pasta, baked goods, bread and pizza crusts
  • Some baking powders
  • Most butter-fried foods
  • Flour-thickened sauces, casseroles and gravies
  • Canned soup and chili
  • Cereal (both hot and cold)
  • Salad dressings, barbecue sauce, soy sauce and other condiments
  • Beer
  • Candy (especially with nougat)
  • Sausage, meatloaf and other dishes in which breadcrumbs are used
  • Oats contaminated with gluten
  • Other foods prepared in areas where gluten-containing flours or bread crumbs are used
